The registration fee will be $425. This fee will include attendance at the meeting, transportation to and from Osorno airport, all meals except one evening, the field excursion, and the abstract volume. Alcoholic beverages will generally be the responsibility of participants, but excellent Chilean wines, beers, and pisco sours can be obtained at the hotel at reasonable prices. Participants who cancel their meeting registration prior to December 15, 2006, will receive a $200 refund. No refunds will be accorded after December 15 unless exigent circumstances can be documented.

Financial Aid

Some funds that will be used to defray the costs of attending SOTA for young scientists and Latin American scientists have been obtained. These funds will be used primarily for providing a reduction in the registration fee, but in some cases part or all of the accommodation costs may also be subsidized. Some travel costs may be partly covered if sufficient funds remain, but we do not anticipate that this will be the case.

Registration fees will be collected by check (US Banks), money order, or wire transfer only. Wire transfer fees are not included in the registration fee.
